Turkmenistan aims to develop e-commerce and digital economy

The development of the digital economy and e-commerce is identified as one of the priority areas in the plans for the development of the trade complex of Turkmenistan for 2024, as reported by Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Atdayev at a Government meeting, TDH reports.

In particular, the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange has been tasked with introducing advanced methods for conducting electronic trading. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry is tasked with organizing exhibitions and conferences using modern technologies.

In addition, the plans include expanding the range and increasing the volume of textile industry products, and improving the art of carpet weaving. Measures will also be taken to develop the private sector and trade and economic relations of Turkmenistan with other countries.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the important role of the shopping complex for the economy and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to monitor the implementation of the plans.
