Representatives of the customs departments of Turkmenistan and Iran held a meeting at the “Artyk” customs post to discuss the optimization of road freight transport through the “Artyk” – “Loftabad” crossing. This is reported by the website of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
The Turkmen delegation was headed by the head of the customs control department of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan A. Niyazov, the Iranian delegation was headed by the head of the “Lotfabad” post Korban Karimi.
“The Turkmen delegation consisted of representatives of customs, migration, border services, the “Turkmenawtoulaglary” and “Turkmendemiryollary” Agencies, as well as the director of the state enterprise “Turkmenulaggozegchilik”. In addition, the meeting was attended by the Consul General of Turkmenistan in Iran (the city of Mashhad), as well as the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in Ahal velayat”, - the customs service reports.
At the meeting, specific measures to simplify transportation were discussed, in particular, increasing the working hours of authorized persons, speeding up the issuance of visas for truck drivers and reducing inspection times.
The issue of repairing the Iranian section of the road between the posts was also raised.
As a result of the meeting, complete mutual understanding was reached on all issues discussed and a determination was expressed to continue cooperation.
