A press conference was held in the capital of Turkmenistan by Indian Ambassador Vidhu Peethambaran Nair to sum up the results of his diplomatic mission, a Turkmenportal correspondent reports.
In his speech, the diplomat highlighted the positive dynamics in political ties between the two countries, manifested in regular meetings at various levels. According to him, this indicates the strengthening of the strategic partnership between India and Turkmenistan.
In the economic sphere, the diplomat emphasized the importance of expanding trade and implementing joint projects for economic growth. Despite the difficulties due to the pandemic, there was a positive trend in trade turnover, which in 2023 amounted to about 300 million USD.
The strategic importance of transport infrastructure and the consideration of Turkmenistan as a transit hub in Central Asia were especially noted.
The ambassador also focused on the importance of expanding educational and cultural exchange, especially among young people, to strengthen friendly ties between peoples.
The Ambassador highly appreciated the hospitality of the Turkmen people, and called Turkmenistan the best country where he had worked as the Ambassador of India. He also noted that his daughter was born while working in Turkmenistan, which became a special symbol of friendship between the countries.
In conclusion, Vidhu Peethambaran Nair expressed confidence in the further strengthening of multifaceted cooperation between India and Turkmenistan.
