The Indian automatic orbital observatory Aditya-L1 for studying the Sun has successfully entered a working orbit in near-solar space. AiF reports this with reference to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The device reached the Lagrange point L1, located at a distance of 1.5 million km from Earth. This location is ideal for observing the Sun because it is outside the influence of the gravitational fields of the Earth and the Sun.

The Aditya-L1 station is equipped with seven experimental complexes for measuring various parameters of the Sun. The device will study the flow of particles emanating from the star, the magnetic field, the solar corona and the dynamics of coronal mass ejections. The station will also study the solar photosphere and chromosphere and measure fluctuations in solar radiation.
