Today, at the UN building, another meeting with youth on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was held as part of the Kitap-paýhasyň çeşmesi book club.

The meeting is traditionally organized by UNDP and the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after D. Azadi.

This meeting was dedicated to SDG 5: “Achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls.” Students of the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after D. Azadi and the International University of Humanities and Development took part in the discussions.

UNDP specialists discussed with youth key issues of gender equality and women's empowerment (GEWE), including the fight against gender-based violence and discrimination. The dialogue also touched on the important role of the younger generation in combating gender stereotypes that hinder women's development.

The event aimed to raise awareness among youth about global and local initiatives that promote gender equality and women's empowerment, in line with UNDP's strong commitment to actively engaging young people in initiatives that promote inclusion and equality.
