In honor of the 95th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding literary figure, writer and playwright of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aitmatov, a cultural event was held at the National Drama Theater named after Alp Arslan.
An exhibition of works by Turkmen artists dedicated to the life and work of the writer was organized here.
The exhibition was visited by the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan, foreign guests and residents of Ashgabat.
Part of the cultural event was also the screening of the play “The White Steamer”, based on the writer’s work of the same name.
According to the IIC, this performance on the stage of the Alp Arslan Theater is one of the most visited in Ashgabat.
The creativity of Chingiz Aitmatov is the heritage of not only the Kyrgyz people, but also of all humanity. The writer's works, piercing and global in their content, influenced many generations of cultural and artistic figures. In Turkmenistan, productions based on the plays of Chingiz Aitmatov never leave the stage and enjoy great love from the audience.
