President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced the country's accession to the Global Methane Commitment, speaking at the COP28 climate summit in Dubai, TDH reports.
The head of state recalled that at the 26th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Glasgow, Turkmenistan expressed support for this initiative and interest in its implementation.
“Today, from this high podium, Turkmenistan officially announces its accession to the Global Methane Commitment,” said President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The head of the Turkmen state also stated that Turkmenistan will continue to cooperate with international organizations and partner countries within the framework of projects to fulfill the terms of this commitment.
