Representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan explained to Turkmen businessmen the advantages of the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status during a meeting in Ashgabat, the press service of the institution reports.
Customs officers recalled that the chapter “Authorized Economic Operator” was added to the Customs Code of Turkmenistan with the adoption of additions and changes on September 30, 2023.
“An AEO is any legal entity involved in the international movement of goods and recognized by a national customs authority as complying with the requirements of the Standard Framework for Secure and Facilitating Global Trade or a similar supply chain,” Customs said.
According to the Customs Code, the AEO status gives a legal entity the right to special simplifications when performing customs operations, including the priority order for their implementation, the non-use of certain types of security for the payment of customs duties, carrying out customs control at its own warehouses, consulting on customs issues as a priority, and others.
