Spain's Ministry of Equality has launched an app to help families share household responsibilities fairly. The application allows women and men to track and compare how much time they spend on household chores, writes euro-pulse.ru.
In the application, you can enter both physical, intellectual and emotional responsibilities. For example, this could be cleaning, laundry, cooking, menu planning, support or assistance with maintenance. The information is reflected in a series of graphs that are generated automatically.
The Ministry believes that the data obtained in the application can be useful for discussions about a fairer distribution of household responsibilities.
According to the National Institute of Statistics, women in Spain spend 12.5 hours more per week on housework than men. However, in recent years, Spanish men have increasingly taken paternity leave to share household responsibilities more equitably.
