Turkmenistan has joined the Agreement on the establishment of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) as an international organization, reports the website of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

The ceremony for presenting the corresponding certificate was held on November 8 in the building of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of Austria.

Representatives of Turkmenistan and Austria who took part in the event discussed issues of work to combat corruption at the international and national levels, and also noted the possibilities of cooperation in this area with IACA.

The International Anti-Corruption Academy was founded as an international organization in 2010. It also received observer status to participate in meetings of the UN General Assembly.

IACA works jointly with the UN and its specialized agencies, in particular with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, and also interacts with international organizations such as Interpol, OSCE and OECD.
