International Telecommunication Union organizes training on next generation mobile communications

The mobile industry is gearing up for the widespread adoption of 5G technologies, which will usher in a new era in communications that will make them faster and more flexible. The two-day training “Launch of next-generation mobile communication networks (IMT-2020/5G)”, which starts at the site of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan on November 9, is intended to introduce specific actions in this direction.

The organizer of the event dedicated to the XVI International Exhibition and Scientific Conference on Telecommunications, Telemetry, Information Technologies and Television and Radio Equipment “Turkmentel-2023” is the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

The target audience of the training is representatives of government agencies, research centers, industry associations and universities, regulators, telecom operators, interested organizations, as well as everyone interested in this issue.

Objectives of the industry event: to familiarize participants with the technologies and concepts underlying 5G, the main differences between 5G and previous generations of mobile technologies, aspects and global experience of launching 5G networks. The training will also help determine the most optimal actions of the government and the regulator to optimize the implementation of 5G technologies and services in Turkmenistan.

On the first day of the training – November 9, its work will begin at 14:00 in the conference hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Participants in thematic sessions will become familiar with technological trends in Information Technology, technologies and capabilities of 5G/IMT-2020 networks, ITU activities in the field of regulation and standardization of 5G/IMT-2020, and also learn about the cost and conditions for spectrum allocation for 5G/IMT-2020.

On November 10, thematic sessions will begin at 9:30 and will focus on: spectrum for 5G/IMT-2020, rationalization of the use of 2G/3G radio frequency bands, key drivers and new business models of the 5G/IMT-2020 era. Participants will become familiar with the experience of commercial launch and development of 5G networks in South Korea, strategies for launching 5G/IMT networks-2020. Selected thematic sessions focus on the long-term evolution of 5G/IMT-2020 and the transition to 6G, managing EMF exposure in the 5G/IMT-2020 era, and infrastructure sharing.

The speakers of the sessions are professionals with extensive experience in the field of radio communications and the implementation of advanced technologies. Among them are Karlis Bogens - Head of the Fixed and Mobile Services Division of the ITU Radiocommunication Bureau, Vadim Poskakukhin - Technical Director of Ubiquitous Wireless LLP (Kazakhstan), John David Kim - Head of the Digital Transformation Acceleration Forum (formerly APAC 5G Forum) and Head of the North-East Asia region in GSMA.

The training “Launch of next generation mobile communication networks (IMT-2020/5G)” is provided free of charge.
