In Spain, scientists from the University of Valladolid have created a “brain-computer” interface that permits to play a simple multiplayer video game with your mind. The interface is based on the electroencephalogram (EEG). About this reports “AiF” with reference to a study in the journal Frontiers in Human Neuroscience.
During the experiment, the system converted the thoughts of 22 players into game commands with 94% accuracy. Each move took just over 5 seconds. Scientists have used visual stimuli to trigger different neural responses in the brain. Based on this, the game Connect 4 was created, based on the principle of the game “Tic Tac Toe”.
To read the players' biosignals, electrodes connected to a computer via Bluetooth were used.
The system received positive feedback from test participants for its intuitiveness and speed. However, its mass use is complicated by the need to apply a conductive gel to the head.
