Chinese company EHang has received a type certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of China for its unmanned air taxi EH216-S. This is the world's first unmanned aerial vehicle to receive an official certificate from the authorities, reports gismeteo.ru.
The EH216-S has two seats and can carry loads weighing up to 220 kilograms. The maximum speed of an air taxi is 130 km/h, and the flight range is about 30 kilometers.
EHang plans to begin commercial trials of its air taxi in China next year.
The type certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China certifies that the EH216-S meets Chinese safety and airworthiness standards.
