A meeting of the international community of women handicraftsmen from Central Asian countries took place today in the new Turkmen city of Arkadag.
According to the MIC, the meeting was held in a video conference format. Representatives of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as UN structural units took part in it.
During the video forum, topics such as the features of the art of needlework, respectful attitude towards women, protection of their rights and their active participation in the political, social and cultural life of the state were touched upon.
It was emphasized that the creation of an international community of women needlewomen in Central Asian countries would not only be the beginning of joint efforts to preserve cultural heritage and pass it on to younger generations, but would also give impetus to the development of women’s entrepreneurship.
Representatives of the Women's Dialogue of Central Asian Countries spoke via video link, who particularly noted the importance of the international community in promoting the exchange of experience between women in the region in the development of needlework and crafts.
The participants made proposals to hold festivals and fairs in the future within the international community of women handicraftsmen in Central Asia, the source notes.
