Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexey Overchuk, after a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, said that very close contacts had been established between Moscow and Ashgabat. This was reported on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation following the meeting of the co-chairs of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian commission.
“Very close contacts have been established between Russia and Turkmenistan. Delegations of our country often visit Ashgabat, for me today’s visit is the third this year, and each time it is a good impetus for the development of our cooperation. Within the framework of the work of the Intergovernmental Russian-Turkmen Commission on Economic Cooperation, we consider such meetings as an opportunity for departments to report on the work done, identify bottlenecks or problems that require attention at the level of co-chairs of the intergovernmental commission, and receive our support - therefore such meetings are important”, - noted Alexey Overchuk following the meeting.
“With my colleague, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Ovezgeldyevich Meredov, we thoroughly reviewed the entire range of issues, discussed everything in detail for more than three hours and made serious progress in preparing for the meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Turkmen Commission”, - added the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.
Let us note that the meeting of the co-chairs of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian commission on economic cooperation was held in Ashgabat, and representatives of relevant structures, ministries and departments of the two countries took part in it.
During the meeting, prospects for the development of partnership in the fuel and energy sector, transport and logistics, industry, cultural and humanitarian spheres and other areas were discussed.
