Today in Dushanbe a meeting of the Council of Heads of State - founders of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea was held, as a result of which a number of documents were signed, reports MIA Kazinform.
Following the summit, the following documents were signed:
1. Dushanbe Statement of the Heads of State - founders of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea;
2. Decision of the heads of state - founders of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea: On the results of the chairmanship of the Republic of Tajikistan in the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea;
3. Decision of the heads of state - founders of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea: On activities to improve the organizational structure and legal framework of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea;
4. Decision of the heads of state - founders of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea: On the election of the President of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.
The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State - founders of IFAS. During his speech, he proposed modernizing the Central Asian Water Strategy, establishing a Regional Center for Technologies related to Climate Change in Central Asia, and also advocated improving the legal framework of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.
The meeting was also attended by the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev.
