In second place was Saudi Arabia, where such stars as Benzema, Neymar, Mane, Kante and others moved. The country has invested 846 million euros in the acquisition of new players for local clubs. This is part of a strategy to modernize the economy and make Saudi Arabia a center of tourism and sports.
Spending by European giants compared to 2019 decreased by about a billion euros. Experts attribute the activity of Arab investors to Saudi Arabia's refusal to host the World Cup in 2030.
