The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the acceptance of Turkmenistan as an official member of the UNESCO Youth Community.

“On behalf of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, I cordially congratulate you on the admission of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan as an official member of the Global Youth Community of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO),” the congratulatory message, the text of which was read today in the evening, says on the air of the information program Watan of the Turkmen television.

“There is a worthy contribution of the Youth Organization, which proudly bears the name of our great poet-thinker Magtymguly Fragi, to the fact that our sovereign state achieves great success and noticeable results in politics, economy, culture,” Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted.

He recalled that the new version of the Law of Turkmenistan “On State Youth Policy” was adopted in the country, thanks to which young people have new opportunities and benefits.

As a result of unprecedented efforts, the youth of Turkmenistan for the sake of friendship, brotherhood and mutually beneficial ties received opportunities for active participation in various meetings, conferences, summits and forums organized in foreign countries and within their country.

Thus, the most important events in the life of the Turkmen youth were participation in the Inter-Parliamentary Youth Forum of the CIS member states, in the conference of the youth of Central Asia held in the Uzbek city of Samarkand, and in other important international events.

“And the adoption of a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding between the Central Council of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly and youth organizations of world states has become the most important event in the life of Turkmen youth, an event that contributes to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation, strengthening friendship and brotherhood between young people of Turkmenistan,” Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized.

The head of the highest representative body of people's power noted that the Resolution signed by the head of state on the approval of the Strategy for International Cooperation of the Youth of Turkmenistan for 2023-2030 is of particular importance.

“It is aimed at the comprehensive development of young people, strengthening friendship, mutual understanding and humanitarian cooperation at the international level,” the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty emphasized.

He also noted that the inclusion of 6 secondary schools of the country in the UNESCO Associated Schools Network, the presence of UNESCO Clubs in three higher educational institutions and the opening of chairs in two shows that cooperation with this organization has reached new levels.

According to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, it is gratifying that the admission of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan as an official member of the UNESCO World Youth Organization - the UN structure for education, science and culture took place in the days when Turkmenistan celebrated the 30th anniversary of cooperation with this international organization.
