At the end of the second round, the nine group winners and the teams that took second places in their quartets will continue to fight in the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and at the same time receive tickets to the final of the 2027 Asian Cup.
The draw for the third round of the 2026 World Cup will take place in 2024. According to its results, 18 teams will be divided into three groups of six teams each.
