It is worth noting that the UN International Day of the Russian Language is celebrated on June 6 on the birthday of the great poet Alexander Pushkin, the creator of the modern literary language. Russian is one of the six official languages of the UN, along with English, Arabic, Spanish, Chinese and French.
In Turkmenistan, education in Russian is conducted in the 71st school. In addition, a striking example of successful cooperation between countries in the cultural and humanitarian sphere is the Joint Turkmen-Russian Secondary School named after A.S. Pushkin in Ashgabat.
This year, it is also planned to start construction of the Turkmen-Russian University in Ashgabat, an agreement on the establishment of which was reached following the talks held in Moscow in June 2022 between Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Vladimir Putin.
