The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the legendary races not only in the Formula 1 calendar, but in all of motorsport. The first start along the narrow streets of Monte Carlo took place in 1950, two years later the stage in Monaco left the World Championship calendar after the death of one of the pilots during practice. However, in 1955, the organizers returned the race to the championship, which it has since left only once - three years ago, the stage was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Monaco Grand Prix circuit is the slowest on the calendar of the Formula 1 season. It is extremely difficult to overtake here, so a lot depends on the qualification and passing the first turn. Briton Lewis Hamilton (3 times) won the most among the current pilots here. The record holder for victories in Monaco is the Brazilian Ayrton Senna (6).
