The RIA Novosti agency compiled a rating of the world's largest economies at the end of last year, based on data from the World Bank and national statistical services.
The largest economy in 2022 is still the US with a nominal GDP of 25,46 trillion USD. China is slightly behind ((17,94 trillion USD), while Japan is in third place with 4,17 trillion USD.
Further, the positions in the ten largest economies in the world were distributed as follows:
- 4th place - Germany (4,04 trillion);
- 5th place - India (3,4 trillion);
- 6th place - Great Britain (3,07 trillion);
- 7th place - France (2,78 trillion);
- 8th place - Russia (2,3 trillion);
- 9th place - Canada (2,14 trillion);
- 10th place - Italy (2,01 trillion).
The GDP rating is calculated on the basis of annual or quarterly data of national statistical services in state currency and recalculated in dollar terms at the current average exchange rate.
