Researchers from the Biotechnology Laboratory of the Technology Center of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan are developing their own biological method for reducing soil salinity.

The method is based on the study of the composition of soil microflora and the dynamics of plant development. The object of study is various degrees of salinity and restored soil in the territory of the village of Karadamak near Ashgabat.

Gulendam Satlygulyeva, a teacher at the Faculty of Biology of the Magtymguly Turkmen State University, said on the pages of the website of the State Publishing Service of Turkmenistan that 27 soil samples have already been microbiologically processed, which were taken from different places of the experimental field from the depth of the arable layer - from 10 to 30 centimeters. 115 strains of micromycentes were identified, and their identification continues.

It is supposed to establish how the composition and microfauna of the soil changes at different levels of mineralization, as well as in the course of restoration measures, top dressing, and moistening.
