International representatives of the mission from the CIS, observing the preparations for the elections of deputies of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, paid a working visit to the Dashoguz velayat.
According to the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, representatives of the mission visited polling stations, assessed their readiness for elections, and talked with members of precinct commissions.
As a result of the visit, a high level of readiness for the voting day, professionalism of members of precinct election commissions were noted. The observers also assessed the level of provision of the polling stations with the necessary equipment and methodological materials.
At present time, the formation of the mission of observers from the CIS continues. It is planned that it will include representatives of the central election commissions of the CIS member states, the parliaments of the Commonwealth countries, the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS member states, the CIS Executive Committee, and the diplomatic corps.
To date, 40 observers have applied for accreditation. These are representatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States and the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth, the source notes.
