The Thai national team may become the eighth participant in the first championship of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA), writes “Sport-Express”.
It is planned that all six members of the Central Asian Football Association - Tajikistan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan will participate in the tournament.
Earlier it was reported that the Russian team will also take part in the tournament, which will be held in June 2023 in Tashkent and Bishkek.
It is worth noting that the Football Association of Thailand has been a member of FIFA since 1925. The team is ranked 111th in the FIFA International Rankings. The highest achievement of the national team is the victory of four Southeast Asian football championships.
