On March 11, the State Music and Drama Theater of the Lebap velayat named after Seyitnazar Seydi begins its tour in Ashgabat.
According to the publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age", guests from Lebap will present a performance dedicated to Ashgabat, as well as a humorous concert on the stage of the Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theater.
The tour will continue until March 18.
The Seyitnazar Seydi Music and Drama Theater, one of the oldest in Turkmenistan, dates back to the 40s of the last century.
The heyday of the theater begins in 1979. It was then that the main creative team was formed from the graduates of the Lunacharsky Moscow State Theater Institute (GITIS).
Over the years, the theater staged the performances “Mad Money” (based on the play by Russian playwright A.N. Ostrovsky), “Do Something, Met” (based on the play by Turkish playwright Aziz Nesin), “Spotted Dog Running at the Edge of the Sea” based on the novel by Chingiz Aitmatov and many others.
In 2018, the performance "Dayahatyn" was awarded the Grand Prix at the theater festival "Silk Road - the road of cordiality" in Ashgabat. The theater director Perhat Hudayberenov was awarded by the jury of the festival in the nomination of the best director.
Earlier, we reported that S. Seydi the State Music and Drama Theater of the Lebap velayat is working on a new play "The White Steamboat" based on the story of the same name by the Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aytmatov.
