Roger Jackson, a 77-year-old resident of one of the English cities, received a prison term of 3 years and 3 months for making phone calls to the police and the Sussex ambulance service for more than two years in a row and insulting employees, the MIR 24 portal writes.

Since the fall of 2020, a Briton has spent nearly 400 hours insulting emergency workers over the phone.

The man was repeatedly warned that such behavior is unacceptable, since with his false calls he distracts operators, making it difficult for those who really need help to get through to emergency services.

The warnings did not help, and the elderly bully was eventually arrested.

"The number and frequency of Jackson's calls occupied the line and had a negative impact on the contact center's ability to provide services to the population that really needed help," county police said.
