The touristic flow from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan in 2022 amounted to about 11 thousand residents, the State Touristic Agency of Azerbaijan reports.
The first place in terms of tourist flow to Azerbaijan was taken by Russia, from where more than 446 thousand people arrived. The second place took Türkiye with 311 thousand travelers. The top-3 is closed by Iran (170 thousand).
Let’s remind that Azerbaijan has resumed issuing electronic visas to citizens of Turkmenistan since July 2022. An electronic visa is the equivalent of a traditional visa, it gives a foreign citizen the right to enter the territory of the country. ASAN visas are issued for a one-time visit of up to 30 days. Citizens of Turkmenistan can also apply for a visa in advance at the consular department of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Ashgabat.
Currently, the land borders of Azerbaijan are closed and that’s why the only way to visit Azerbaijan is by air.
