Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa has retained the post of President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Elections were held today in the capital of Bahrain.

According to the organization's official Twitter, Salman bin Ibrahim al-Khalifa has been re-elected as head of the AFC for another 4-year term.

The 57 years old member of the Bahraini royal family will remain at the head of the confederation until at least 2027.

Let us remind that al-Khalifa, who is also FIFA vice-president, has been in charge of the confederation since 2013, when he replaced the Qatari Mohammed bin Hammam in this post.
