President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has sent a congratulatory telegram to President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping. He congratulated him as well as the Chinese people on the New Year and the Spring Holiday.
“Being a Lunar New Year holiday, it signifies the awakening of nature, a new beginning and opportunities. This holiday, which has deep historical roots, embodies endurable universal values and promotes unity of family, peaceful coexisting and harmony.
In Turkmenistan, we highly value relations with the People’s Republic of China, which are based on the principles of mutual respect and trust, equality and mutual benefit”, says the message of the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that currently the interstate Turkmen – Chinese dialog has strategic and long-term character. The commitment to the course of further expansion of relations with China through the realization of the existing great potential for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries was noted.
“I remember with a feeling of special warmth my recent first state visit to your great country. During the meetings, we held very open and confidential talks, exchanged views on the current state of bilateral cooperation and outlined goals for its further development”, the congratulatory message published on the TDH website says.
The Chinese New Year, which is literally called the Spring Holiday, is the longest and the most significant holiday in the Chinese lunar and solar calendar. The origin of this holiday dates back to ancient times. In accordance with the opinion of the Chinese, on this first day spring day, nature awakens, the earth and the sprouts of life preserved by it come to life.
