The foreign trade turnover of Turkmenistan for 11 months of 2022 increased by 34,6%, amounting to almost 18,3 billion USD, expert Valentin Trapeznikov told CentralAsia.news.
“The export indicator in the specified period exceeded 11,66 billion USD, which is 46,5% more than the previous year. Imports increased by 17,8%, amounting to more than 6,61 billion USD.
The expert also noted that against this background, the positive balance of the foreign trade balance amounted to more than 5,04 billion USD, which is more than 2,1 times higher than in 2021.
According to Trapeznikov, the top five importers of Turkmen products include China, Russia, Afghanistan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan. The total export of Turkmenistan to these countries is almost 10 billion USD.
It should be noted that the basis of exports is the products of the oil and gas complex - gas, oil products, petroleum coke and gasoline processed from natural gas.
In addition, electricity, products of the chemical industry, light industry, building materials, as well as raw materials for the pharmaceutical and food industries are exported.
It should be noted the increase in exports of food products - fresh vegetables, confectionery, canned vegetables and fruits.
