Today, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan’s, arrived to the Republic of Korea on an official visit, the information program “Watan” of the Turkmen television reported.
At the Seoul International Airport, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the national Parliament was warmly and cordially greeted by the head of the Turkmenistan-Korea Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Lee Dal-gon and other officials.
In honor of the arrival of the distinguished guest, soldiers of the Guard of Honor were lined up along the carpet leading from the plane ramp.
Here, in the reception hall of distinguished guests, a brief conversation took place over a cup of tea with the official representative of the Republic of Korea, during which Mr. Lee Dal-gon expressed confidence that the current visit marks a new quality, a new stage of interaction between friendly countries.
Thanking for the warm welcome, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that partnership relations with the Republic of Korea, which is actively involved in the implementation of joint projects for the construction of large industrial complexes in Turkmenistan, are successfully developing.
The Turkmen-Korean Business Council and the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Korean Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation, established on the initiative of the Turkmen side, create favorable conditions for expanding long-term partnership on a mutually beneficial basis, the interlocutors noted.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Lee Dal-gon expressed confidence that the agreements to be reached following the results of the current visit are designed to contribute to bringing relations to a new level and the comprehensive development of political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties.
At the end of the conversation, the chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan from the Seoul air harbor went to the residence assigned to him for the duration of the visit, located in the fashionable Lotte Hotel.
The program of his visit to Seoul includes meetings with the President of the Republic of Korea, with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Korea and a number of other meetings, called to give a strong impetus to the traditional interstate dialog.
During the visit, it is planned to sign a memorandum on cooperation between the Halk Maslakhaty chamber of Turkmen parliament and the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, as well as a number of documents with the participation of members of both countries' delegations.
This year marks the 30th anniversary from the day of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea.
