Turkmenistan plans to introduce a special visa regime in Avaza to attract tourists

To attract tourists, Turkmenistan plans to introduce a special visa regime in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone on the Caspian coast. The expediency of intensifying such measures aimed at further improving the legal framework for cooperation with foreign countries in the field of tourism was stated by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov at a workshop on the further development of the NTZ “Avaza” held in the Balkan velayat.

“In order to increase the economic and financial potential of Avaza, improve migration and customs procedures, an initiative was put forward to study the development and launch of a special visa regime in accordance with international standards in the resort center of the country”, reports the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper today.

Emphasizing the need for a detailed study of world practice in the development of tourism and its application at the national level, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of training qualified specialized personnel for the optimal solution of appropriate tasks.

Speaking of this, the head of the chamber of the Halk Maslahaty of the national parliament focused on the creation of modern infrastructure at the NTZ “Avaza”, including transport and logistics, in order to attract travelers on a massive scale.

“Here, it is necessary to effectively use the capabilities of the International Airport and the seaport in Turkmenbashi”, - Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized.

The foundation of NTZ “Avaza” was laid in 2007. Today, a world-class resort and recreational infrastructure is actively functioning here - cottage complexes, hotels, entertainment and health centers
