Strategic risks in border management considered in Ashgabat

The two-day seminar, which ended yesterday in Ashgabat, was devoted to the analysis of strategic risks in border management.

As reported on the website of the customs service of Turkmenistan, the seminar was organized and conducted by the Border Management Assistance Program in Central Asia (BOMCA 10).

The event was attended by representatives of state bodies of Turkmenistan involved in border management.

The participants got acquainted with the principles and methodology of the Common Integrated Risk Analysis Model (CIRAM) used in the European Union and a systematic approach to data collection and analysis.

Particular attention was paid to strengthening cooperation in the field of strategic risk analysis between all agencies involved in the management of the state border. A comparative analysis of the best practices of Turkmenistan and the EU was carried out and recommendations were developed for the implementation of a joint system of strategic risk analysis.

The source emphasizes that strategic risk analysis is a key element in decision-making at all levels, and joint coordinated actions in this direction are designed to strengthen the national potential of Turkmen agencies.
