Sports official Gianni Infantino will be re-elected for the International Football Federation (FIFA) president post for a second four-year term.
As the press-service of FIFA reports, Infantino’s candidacy will be the only one in the Presidential elections of the Main Football Organization, which will be held in March 2023.
Gianni Infantino became the head of FIFA in 2016, when he succeeded Sepp Blatter in the snap elections.
In June 2019, Infantino was re-elected for a second term.
Infantino was born in the south of Switzerland and is of Italian descent. He is 52 years old. From 2000 to 2016, he worked for the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
Let’s remind that in September 2022, Chairman of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan Arslan Aynazarov met with FIFA President Gianni Infantino in Qatar. During the meeting between the two sports functionaries, the development of football in Turkmenistan was discussed. Infantino noted the progress in the development of Turkmen football and expressed a desire to visit Turkmenistan.
