Abu Dhabi International Airport (UAE) plans to resume international flights with Turkmenistan in November 2022, reports the online publication Zawya, with reference to the commercial director of the airport Francois Bourienne.

“In two weeks, Turkmenistan will start several flights from Ashgabat to Abu Dhabi”, Bourienne said in an interview with Zawya.

“Turkmenistan” Airlines suspended regular flights to Abu Dhabi in March 2020 due to the pandemic. In the summer of 2022, the Turkmen air carrier resumed regular flights from Ashgabat to Dubai (UAE). Flights are operated on Mondays and Fridays. In the opposite direction to Turkmenistan, the planes return to the airport of the city of Turkmenabat.

Abu Dhabi Airport was built in 1982, 32 km from the center of the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
