On November 2, a round table “Cultural Heritage of Turkmenistan: Ethnographic Aspect” will be held in the conference hall of the Center of Oriental Literature of the Russian State Library in Moscow.
The event is organized jointly by the Center of Oriental Literature, the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Moscow Society of the Turkmen Culture.
As part of the round table, there will be a presentation of the series of books “Ethnography of the Turkmens”, published by the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Among presented publications are the work of Ashgabat ethnographer and artist Alexey Dolgov “Turkmen Traditional Crafts”, two works of famous specialist on ethnography of Turkmen folk Sergey Demidov, as well as a collective monograph “Turkmens” from the series “Peoples and Cultures”, reports the Russian State Library reports.
Leading Russian ethnologists and orientalists - turkologists, who are engaged in the history and culture of the Turkmen people will take part in the event. Moreover, the scientists from St. Petersburg will also join the seminar via video link.
Special attention will be paid to the discussion of the monograph “Turkmens”.
