28 million manats will be saved on the changes in the administrative-territorial division in Turkmenistan

For a total 28 million manats is projected to be saved from the budget as a result of the planned changes in the administrative-territorial division of Turkmenistan. It was stated by the Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Muhammetgeldi Saparov at the Parliament meeting of the conducted today, the information program “Watan” of the Turkmen television.

As per his words, the effective use of administrative buildings of local self-government bodies, educational, cultural and financial and economic institutions, released from operation in connection with the improvement of administrative-territorial units and creating additional opportunities for the economy, will significantly increase the economic interests of the country and will have a positive impact on increasing State budget revenues.

Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the work carried out in this direction will create favorable prerequisites for the harmonious development of the economy, improving the standard of living of the people and the systematic improvement of the activities of administrative-territorial units.

Talking about this, he noted that saved financial resources is reasonably to direct to the social sphere, to the construction of schools and children gardens, healthcare facilities, provision of harmony development of the younger generation.

We remind that summing up the proposals of the heads of regions expressed at the meeting of the Parliament, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov informed about the plans on revoking of: 6 etraps (Gubadag etrap, etrap named after Gurbansoltan eje, Farap etrap, Etrap Dovletli, Serhetabat etrap and Oguzhan etrap); 5 cities with etrap rights (the city of Tejen, Gumdag, Hazar, Serdar, Kunyaurgench); 1 etrap in the city (Kenar etrap in the city of Turkmenbashi); 2 villages (Bagabat village in the Ak Bugday etrap, Garagel village in the city of Hazar); 36 gengeshliks (village councils).
