The festival “Art and Poetry” dedicated to the 31st anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence has opened in the Lebap velayat, which is attended by members of the Society of the Blind and Deaf of Turkmenistan (OSGT).
In the eventful program of the forum, within the framework of five days, concert performances are planned in several educational institutions of Turkmenabat, among them: the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after S.Seydi, secondary medical school, secondary special School of Finance and Economics, and others.
On the second day of the festival, a concert was held in the hall of the Lebap Special School of Arts, in which performers with disabilities from Mary velayat, engaged in musical and artistic creativity in various genres, presented their talents.
In a friendly and warm atmosphere, to the applause of students and teachers of the School of Arts; their dances, songs, poems sounded inspired and emotional.
The repertoire of the concert featured a rich palette of works: Turkmen folk melodies (performed by Akmuhammad Atayev); pop and lyrical songs (performed by Lyale Muradova, Ovlyaguly Tokayev); an old traditional dance “kushtdepdi”; theatrical skits staged based on folk legends and comic episodes from modern life, played with temperament and artistry participants.
The very name of the festival is “Art and Poetry” is symbolic because art in all its forms and directions always gives a good mood and joy!
It should be noted that in 1992, at the 47th session, the UN General Assembly established December 3 as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. It called on all UN Member States to carry out various activities with the aim of actively integrating disabled people into society.
In Turkmenistan, this day is celebrated annually, and along with it, various contests of literary and creative works, exhibitions of decorative and applied arts, concerts with the participation of children and adults with disabilities are held throughout the year.
