President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived today in the Republic of Kazakhstan on a two-day visit, during which he will participate in a meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State and the “Central Asia-Russia” summit.
As reports the official Telegram channel of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, at the Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport in Astana, where the state flags of both countries fluttered, the head of Turkmenistan was met by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov and other officials.
The meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the first summit “Central Asia – Russia” will be held today under the chairmanship of Kazakhstan.
As reports MIA “Kazaninform”, during the meeting, the leaders of the countries will discuss topical issues of interaction at the Commonwealth site, consider and adopt a number of documents aimed at further developing and strengthening integration ties in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as in the field of security.
On October 15, Serdar Berdimuhamedov will begin his first state visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan since taking office as President of Turkmenistan in March this year. It is noted that during it, the heads of the two states will discuss the current state and prospects for cooperation, building up strategic cooperation, as well as important issues on the agenda.
