Employees of the Scientific Research Institute of Natural Gas handed over to the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan a stone with interspersed prehistoric corals of the Jurassic period, found in geological developments in the Koytendag mountains.

The new exhibit has replenished the collection of the museum department of nature and local history, which presents fossils found on the territory of Turkmenistan. Among them are the imprints of fossil marine organisms that lived in the Mesozoic and Cenozoic eras - ammonites, belemnites, echinoderms, gastropods and bivalve mollusks, teeth of sharks from the Tethys Sea, the coast of which was once bordered by coral reefs, and much more, reports the State Publishing Service of Turkmenistan.
