India celebrates 75th anniversary of independence from Britain

Today India celebrates one of the main national holidays - Independence Day. This year the country is celebrating 75 years of liberation from British colonial rule, reports trend.az. Monday has been declared a public holiday in the country.

It is noted that in different parts of the country, on the occasion of the anniversary, large-scale celebrations were held throughout the year. And on August 15, they will be their culmination. In the colors of the national flag of India - saffron, white and emerald green, famous monuments in different states and cities of the country are highlighted on holidays.

Houses, shop windows, cars, public transport are also decorated with the state tricolor.
