The Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan A. Muminov and Deputy Chairman of the Agency “Turkmenawtoulaglary” W. Hojanepesov, and representatives of automobile, railway, aviation and other organizations of the two countries participated in the meeting.

The Uzbek delegation made a proposal to simplify the requirements and reduce the time for issuing entry visas to Turkmenistan for Uzbek drivers engaged in international freight transport by road.

An exchange of views was on expanding cooperation in the development of transport corridors. In this regard, the Uzbek side noted that the transport corridors passing through the port of Turkmenbashi are important for the entire region, and it is necessary to develop cooperation in this direction.

The parties agreed to take measures on further modernization of the railway infrastructure in order to increase freight turnover on transit routes, and to provide discounts in order to reduce transportation costs for freight traffic.
