Belarusian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Vyacheslav Beskosty hopes for the speedy restoration of air traffic between Minsk and Ashgabat. He stated this during an interview for the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”.
According to the diplomat, the Belarusian aviation authorities and the national airline “Belavia” are ready for this step.
Let’s remind that regular flights between Turkmenistan and Belarus were suspended in March 2020 due to a global pandemic. “Belavia” operated a regular flight on the Minsk–Ashgabat–Minsk route once a week on Boeing 737 aircraft. Flights to the capital of Turkmenistan were carried out on Tuesdays, with a return flight on Wednesdays.
More than 6.6 thousand Turkmen citizens studied at Belarusian universities in the 2021/2022 academic year.
Turkmenistan regularly organizes charter flights from Minsk to return its citizens to their homeland.
