An innovative track that can charge electric cars while driving was built in Italy in the municipality of Chiari.
As reports the publication daily.afisha, the highway was built at the “Arena of the future” test site and became part of the Dinamic Wireless Power Transfer (DWPT). The charging mechanism is built directly into the roadbed under the asphalt, thanks to which the electric car can be recharged without the need to stop.
It is noted that the energy for the movement of cars can be obtained from solar or wind renewable energy sources. The highway has already been tested during a test run of the Fiat New 500. The car was able to maintain speed while driving on the highway without using up the energy stored in its batteries.
