President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the Turkmen people and the courageous sericulturists of the country on a brilliant labor victory – successful fulfillment of the state order for harvesting of more than 2,300 tons of high-quality cocoons, the Information Program "Watan" of the Turkmen Television reported.
As the head of state noted during the video broadcast on the development of the agricultural complex held today, rich harvest of cocoons grown by the tireless work of courageous sericulturists is a source of well–being of the Turkmen people.
Sericulture plays a special role in the development of the textile industry – one of the leading branches of the national economy. Today, silk production is organized at a modern level. The Ashgabat Reeling-House and the Turkmenabat Silk Production Association, being the main silk processing enterprises, were modernized and the latest equipment was installed. New workshops opened there producing silk carpets, national keteni fabrics and other products.
"In the future, we plan increasing the volume of investments in sericulture, which will allow us creating additional jobs for our population, increasing production of valuable raw materials," the President of Turkmenistan said.
Once again the head of state heartily congratulated the sericulturists and the entire Turkmen people on a great labor victory – fulfillment of contractual obligations for harvesting cocoons and wished them good health, prosperous life, great achievements in selfless work for the sake of further prosperity of the Motherland.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered to hold solemn events in all regions and to present gifts to distinguished cocoon harvesters and employees of specialized enterprises.
