A webinar on the study of international experience in the area of the elaboration of regulatory technical documents for the development of renewable energy in Turkmenistan was attended by specialists of the Ministry of Energy, teachers and students of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan in Mary, specialists of the Research and Production Center "Renewable Energy Sources" (RES) at the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan (SEIT).
The event was held within the framework of the joint project of UNDP and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection "Sustainable Cities in Turkmenistan: Integrated Green Urban Development in Ashgabat and Awaza".
The objectives of the webinar were to provide participants with the information on the development of the renewable energy sector, to talk about international experience in the area of the elaboration of regulatory documents and best practices in the use of renewable energy, as well as the introduction of innovative energy-efficient technologies into the energy industry.
The webinar presented the project activities implemented to develop regulatory legal acts on energy efficiency and renewable energy, including the National Strategy for the Development of Renewable Energy in Turkmenistan until 2030, the new Law of Turkmenistan "On Renewable Energy Sources" and the draft of the new Law of Turkmenistan "On Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving".
This activity was implemented jointly by the specialists of the Ministry of Energy, SEIT and the UNDP project.
