President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to speed up the construction of the Administrative Center of the Akhal Region. Relevant instructions were given to Deputy Prime Minister Charymyrat Purchekov at the meeting of the Government held today, the Watan News Program of the Turkmen Television reported.
To recap, on April 28, at the Expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the head of Turkmenistan expressed dissatisfaction with the progress and quality of construction of the new Administrative Center of the Akhal Region.
A new $1.5 billion Administrative Center, Akhal, is under construction 30 kilometers southwest of the Turkmen capital. The start of this large-scale project was given in April 2019.
Construction is underway in two stages. In the new Region Center, 2-, 5-, 7- and 9-storey "smart" residential buildings will be built, monitored via a smartphone and designed for 12,324 families. The urban infrastructure will also include a complex of social and other facilities: kindergartens, schools and other specialized educational institutions, institutions in the areas of healthcare, culture, trade and services, sports facilities, administrative buildings, etc., as well as transport and communication and engineering - technical systems.
The construction of the first stage of the Administrative Center of the Akhal Region should be completed in December this year - by the Day of Turkmenistan's Neutrality.
