In May, various events will be held on the occasion of widely celebrated holidays in Turkmenistan – Oraza-Bayram (Eid al-Fitr), the Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, the Constitution Day and the State Flag of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen Carpet Holiday, the Day of the City of Ashgabat and the Last Bell Holiday.
On May 9, on the occasion of the Victory Day, it is traditionally planned to lay flowers at the Monuments of the Halk hakydasy Memorial Complex ("People's Memory").
The laying of flowers at the Monument of Constitution and at the Main Flag of the country will take place on May 18. As it is known, this year marks the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Turkmenistan. A number of events that will be held in the capital and at the regions’ sites is timed to coincide with the significant date.
A traditional Exhibition of carpets and carpet products will be held among the events on the occasion of the Turkmen Carpet Holiday, which is planned at the country's Chamber of Commerce and Industry on May 29. On the same day, the XXII Meeting of the World Association of Connoisseurs of the Turkmen Carpet and a festive concert will be held at the Song and Music Center "Ashgabat".
By the City Day, the XXI International Universal Exhibition "White City of Ashgabat" is traditionally organized in the capital, it will be held at the CCI on May 25-26. On the occasion of this holiday, a solemn concert will be held in front of the Monument "My White City of Ashgabat" on May 24.
Concerts dedicated to the Day of the City of Ashgabat and the "Last Bell" Holiday will be held in the Song and Music Center "Ashgabat" and on the site in front of the State Circus on May 25.
Melpomene lovers will be pleased with the theatrical groups of the country, which will show their performances within the framework of the Festival "Turkmen Theatrical Art" on May 21-25.
