Today, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on behalf of the people, the Government of Turkmenistan and on his own behalf, sent heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Mohammad Abdul Hamid and all the people of the country on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations establishment between the countries, the Information Program "Watan" of the Turkmen Television reported.
"Relations between our countries are based on the principles of mutual respect, equality and mutual understanding," Berdimuhamedov stressed in his message, noting Turkmenistan's interest in expanding bilateral partnership, and expressed confidence that thanks to joint efforts, cooperation will continue developing in the interests of both nations.
Taking advantage of this pleasant opportunity, the Head of Turkmenistan expressed sincere wishes to President Mohammad Abdul Hamid for good health, happiness and well–being, and progress and prosperity to the people of the country.
Turkmenistan and the People's Republic of Bangladesh established diplomatic relations on February 28, 1992.
In total, Turkmenistan established diplomatic relations with 62 countries of the world in 1992.
Turkmenistan's diplomatic presence in the world has significantly expanded in recent years. Currently, the country has established diplomatic ties with 151 states out of 193 members of the United Nations.
